Welcome to La Villita Heritage Society

Preserving Heritage. Enriching Lives. Strengthening Community.

The La Villita Heritage Society is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating the rich cultural heritage of San Antonio while making a meaningful difference in the lives of others.

Through cultural events, live entertainment, festivals, and community partnerships, the Society brings people together to experience the music, traditions, food, art, and history that make San Antonio such a unique and vibrant community. At the heart of these efforts is a commitment to charitable service, including the relief of poverty and providing opportunities for arts enrichment for underprivileged youth.

For La Villita Heritage Society, an event is about more than entertainment. It is an opportunity to bring the community together while supporting causes that matter.

Over the years, the Society has presented and participated in a variety of cultural and community events, including festivals featuring live music, Gospel performances, local cuisine, and family-centered activities. Proceeds and fundraising efforts associated with these events have helped support charitable organizations and community programs throughout the San Antonio area.

Everything we do is rooted in a desire to strengthen the community we call home. Whether through cultural celebrations, arts enrichment, charitable fundraising, or partnerships with local organizations, La Villita Heritage Society seeks to preserve the traditions of the past while creating opportunities for future generations.

We invite you to celebrate with us, experience the culture of San Antonio, and help us continue making a difference—one event, one partnership, and one life at a time.

Menger Hotel

Just steps from the Alamo stands one of San Antonio’s most enduring landmarks—the Menger Hotel. William and Mary Menger opened the hotel in 1859, after the popularity of their boarding house and brewery created demand for better accommodations near Alamo Plaza.
