Roger Blevins Jr. is the acclaimed singer, songwriter and producer best known as the founder and frontman of the Austin based soul and funk band Mingo Fishtrap, which he led for ore than 30 years. Throughout his career, Blevins has released multiple albums, toured extensively across the U.S. and internationally, and earned a reputation as one of Texas’ premier vocalists and songwriters.
Following a courageous battle with tongue cancer, Blevins returned to the stage with a renewed passion for music and life. Along with his wife, Valerie, he co-founded The Tongue Crowd Project, a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting cancer patients and thier families. In 2025, the organization launched with the release of Tough Crowd, featuring Grammy Award winning artist Ruthie Foster and an all star lineup of Austin musicians.
